Pigmentation spots – causes, prevention and effective care

Frau mit Cremetopf
Beauty Tip No. 9

An even complexion is considered by many to be a sign of youth and vitality.

However, pigmentation spots – also known as age spots, sun spots or melasma – can affect the skin’s appearance and make it look uneven. Fortunately, there are effective ways to reduce their appearance and prevent new ones from forming.

What are pigmentation spots?
Pigmentation spots appear when the skin produces too much melanin, the natural pigment that protects and gives colour to our skin. When production becomes uneven, dark spots or discolorations appear.

Common causes:

  • Sun: UV radiation is the most common cause
  • Hormones: Pregnancy, birth control pills or menopause can affect the skin’s appearance
  • Ageing: Over time, melanin production becomes more uneven
  • Genetics: Some skin types are more prone to pigmentation spots

Prevention – the most important step
The best protection against pigmentation spots is consistent sun protection. A day cream or skincare product with a high SPF (at least 30) should be applied all year round, not just during summer.

Skincare against pigmentation spots

  • Vitamin C: provides antioxidant protection and brightens the complexion
  • Niacinamide: helps promote an even skin tone
  • Retinol: stimulates cell renewal
  • Fruit acids (AHA/BHA): remove dead skin cells and promote a fresh, radiant complexion

Since this summer, the Goldheit TXA Whitening Elixir has been my personal favourite for reducing pigmentation spots.

The Goldheit TXA Whitening Elixir is one of the most effective serums for achieving an even, clear and radiant complexion. It targets pigmentation spots, discolouration and dull skin without irritating – and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

The elixir contains tranexamic acid (TXA), a cutting-edge ingredient that regulates melanin production and visibly reduces redness and dark spots. Enriched with niacinamide, vitamin C, bakuchiol, and precious extracts of daisy, wild rose, blueberry, cranberry and goji berry, as well as hyaluronic acid, it strengthens the skin barrier, provides deep hydration, and leaves the skin fresher, smoother and more balanced.

I use it every day because it makes my skin feel clearer, more refined and calmer – especially when it tends to be uneven. After a short time, my complexion appears more even and radiant, without any loss of comfort.

For me, the TXA Whitening Elixir is pure indulgent care – it soothes, clarifies, and gives the skin renewed radiance without weighing it down.

Conclusion
Pigmentation spots can be stubborn, but with the right skincare routine they can be visibly reduced. The key lies in patience, consistent sun protection and effective ingredients such as vitamin C, niacinamide or retinol.
